Send different Gifts every year _ If you are planning to send out the gifts every year make sure you are not repeating the same ones. The client should feel happy about the gift and it should be a reminder of your company.

Do make sure the interest of clients is respected _ Buy something which you know the client will appreciate. Make sure your choice is right and the client will actually love the gift and remember you each and every year. You may call your clients or check on their wish list so that you have better idea on what to give.

Do deliver the gift personally _ If you personally go to deliver the gift the client will appreciate the same and will always remember the gift and your company.

Do remember that the gift is representing your company _ This is the way to keep your clients loyal to you. The right corporate gift will help you in keeping the client and generate revenue for your company. Thus, image is very important. Choose a gift that is of high quality but does not ruin your budget.

Don’ts:

Don’t buy anything of the shelf _ The wall clocks, alarm clocks, pens, paper weights, coffee mugs etc even if they are less expensive they are worthless as the client either must have bought the same for himself or either got it from some one as a gift. To keep your clients loyal you would be advised to stay away from these common gifts.

Don’t forget the cultural differences _ Think before you send a gift and especially to the person of different religion or nationality. Make sure the item you are planning to gift is not against their culture, belief or traditions. They may be offensive to the person receiving the gift.

Don’t Gift to former clients _ This will be misleading as they would think you are planning to win them back and their loyalty.

Don’t forget the assistants _ You need to build good relations with the clients assistants and do not forget to gift them. It may be a small thing for you but but for your client’s assistant, a thought of being remembered is a big thing.

Don’t expect something in return – If you give the gift to a client do not expect something in return. However, it is a good gesture to send a thank you card if you happen to receive something from someone.
